Eligibility & APPLICATION

Our unique mission is to provide children in need with recreational equine and animal assisted activities in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Our participants are not required to meet any specific medical or physical goals during their time here. Although the physical, mental and emotional benefits are significant and quite measurable, our young participants are not required to work towards and/or achieve any specific health related or medical goals.  They simply enjoy their special time with our special horses and animals in a relaxed and supportive environment. We consider each individual’s personal reasons for wanting to be here at the farm. Our program is strictly an opportunity for children and teens who are suffering to spend time away from their trauma and find peace and joy with our animals and the caring volunteers who dedicate their time, compassion and care to them.

Eligibilty

We hope to reach out to any individual who can find healing in the presence of our animals.

How do i start?

PictureOur volunteers are super stars!
Our Barn Buddy Program utilizes 1-on-1 volunteers to facilitate animal-assisted activities for individuals with special needs.
Individuals will be assigned a support staff volunteer after
 1) the Application is completed and 2) The individual and parent visit the facility with the Program Director. This is an informal  "meet and greet" to familiarize you with the farm, staff and program and give you the opportunity to ask any questions or share any specific concerns or needs.
